Any financial transaction equivalent to more than 15,000 EUR (calculated using the average exchange rate of the National Bank of Poland for the given day) is considered a threshold transaction, requiring special security measures.
As part of these additional security measures, our exchange office is required to verify the client’s information provided during registration with the data on their identification documents.
For individuals, we need a scanned copy of their ID card, while for legal entities, we require a scanned copy of the ID card of the person conducting the transaction on behalf of the company, as well as scanned copies of the company’s registration documents. Sending these scanned documents (via email) is necessary before the transaction can be approved.
To complete transactions exceeding the threshold, we require the following information.
Individuals:
- name and surname
- nationality
- address of the person conducting the transaction
- PESEL number or date of birth if the person does not have a PESEL number, or identification document number for foreign nationals, or the country code if a passport is presented
- ID card series and number
Legal Entities:
- current data from the National Court Register (KRS) or another document containing: company name, legal form of the entity, registered office and address, tax identification number (NIP)
- full name, PESEL number or date of birth if the person does not have a PESEL number, of the person representing the legal entity, additionally: the residential address of this person, as well as the series and number of their ID card
On December 19, 2001, the Supreme Administrative Court (NSA) issued a ruling (case no. II SA 2869/00) stating that “it is permissible to make photocopies or scans of identity documents to the extent that they contain the data mentioned in Article 9, paragraph 1, point 1 of the Act.” In light of this, to efficiently process transactions exceeding the threshold, we kindly ask you to send the aforementioned documents (the condition for their acceptance is the legibility of the submitted scans).
